Shakhboz Ibodullaev — Senior Compositing Artist
Hello! My name is Shakhboz Ibodullaev, and I am a compositing artist based in Tashkent. I professionally work on compositing for international film and television projects.
My journey in the visual effects industry began in 2014–2015 when I completed training in VFX and post-production at the Let’s Animate training center. Even back then, I dreamed of working in the film industry, and in the same year I started my career at United Soft studio, where I worked for about seven years, until 2022.
In 2020, I completed full training with Andrey Savinskiy (at the time a compositing artist at Framestore) on the educational platform 48frames.online. I studied key compositing courses in Nuke, including:
NUKE: Young Fighter Course,
Compositing Reader. Project “Leningrad — Not Paris”,
NUKE: Cleanup Reader,
NUKE: Keying Reader,
NUKE: CG Compositing,
Compositing Reader. Project “T-34”.
These courses became an important milestone in my professional development. The training helped me gain a deeper understanding of compositing processes and significantly expand my practical skills, which allowed me to move to an international level of work.
During my career I have participated in more than 50 projects, including films and TV series such as Duelist, Baahubali, Saaho, Radhe Shyam, Fallout, The Penguin, Maria, The Creator, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, and others. While working on these projects, I handled the full compositing pipeline for shots and solved tasks of varying complexity. Since 2016, my primary tool has been Nuke.
In 2022, I began working remotely with the European studio PFX (Prague, Czech Republic), where I continue to grow as a compositor, contributing to international productions and collaborating closely with experienced teams from around the world.
Alongside my main work, I also work as a freelancer. Previously, I contributed to projects for international studios such as CGF, PPVFX, ARGUNOV STUDIO, VFX Los Angeles, Tailormade, alien.vision, WE ARE KIND, FROSTFX, and others.
In 2025, the project “The Penguin” (HBO Max), on which I worked as a compositing artist, received an Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode for the episode “Bliss.” I was recognized by the Television Academy (Academy of Television Arts & Sciences) for my contribution to this Emmy Award–winning achievement.
Compositing is not just my profession — it is a part of my life. I strive to create visual work that inspires and leaves a lasting impression. My goal is to continue growing and reaching new professional heights in the visual effects industry.
